Nancy Volante, MFA, is a Teaching Artist and Certified Yoga Teacher. She received her RYT 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification as a Vinyasa Instructor from Saraswati’s Yoga Joint with Donna Jackson. Nancy is a former concert dancer, and has danced and toured with several professional dance companies in New York City and Boston, MA. She received her Movement Specialist Certification at The New School for Social Research while maintaining an active yoga practice.
Nancy has taught yoga, dance and creative movement residencies with several artistic organizations in NYC. She is currently a Teaching Artist for Lincoln Center Moments and an Arts- in-Education Consultant. Her expertise is integrating arts and yoga classes in community settings for general/special education, community centers, yoga studios and cultural organizations. She is Co-Author and former Lead Teaching Artist/Coach for Everyday Arts for Special Education.
Nancy’s intention as a yoga teacher is to engage and empower people of all ages to connect with their mind, body and spirit in a creative environment while exploring the power and healing of the imagination in everyday living on and off the mat.
She loves to cook, travel and garden, which informs her teaching practice and community-based artistic work. She teaches yoga classes in Ridgefield, Ct, Norwalk, Ct, and New York City.
