Who We Are
For more than two decades, Saraswati’s Yoga Joint has been taking the mystery out of yoga. Our South Norwalk studio offers thoughtful, anatomy-informed classes that get you out of your head, into your body, and stronger in more ways than one.
DEVOTED
We show up for one another.
We practice together, learn from one another, and take care of the community we’re part of. We believe in showing up, giving back, and growing together.
PRACTICED
The practice is in the returning.
Get stronger. Move better. Breathe deeper. Our anatomy-informed approach helps you understand your body and build a practice that lasts.

FAQs
-
Welcome! Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early so you have time to check in, get settled, and meet your teacher. Let us know it’s your first time at SYJ—we’re happy to show you around.
-
Our classes are designed to meet you where you are. Open and Foundations classes build strength, mobility, and skill through movement. Yin slows things down with longer holds that support mobility and release. Restorative and Meditation classes support deep rest and stillness. If you’re newer to yoga or returning after some time away, Foundations is a great place to start. Not sure? Ask us, we’ll help you find the right fit.
-
Our studio is warm, not hot. The practice room is typically 80–85°F, with heated radiant floors during the cooler months. Expect enough warmth to help you move comfortably without the intensity of a hot yoga class.
-
No. Mats and all the props you’ll need for class are available at the studio. You’re always welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move freely. No special yoga gear required. We practice barefoot, so you’ll leave your shoes outside the practice room.
-
Yes. We have a shower and space to change, and towels are available. Whether you’re heading to work after an early class or fitting yoga into your day, you can get ready here.
-
Parking is free. Park in the Ironworks garage and bring your parking ticket into the studio for validation. The entrance to the garage is on Washington Street.
-
We recommend reserving your class in advance so you know your spot is waiting for you. Walk-ins are welcome when space is available.
-
If you arrive after class has begun, please wait until centering is complete before entering the practice room. This helps us preserve a quiet, focused start to class for everyone. If you’re more than 10 minutes late, we ask that you join us another time.
-
If your plans change, please cancel as early as possible so another student has the opportunity to practice.
-
Please let your teacher know before class about anything that may affect your practice so they can help you navigate the experience appropriately. If you’re pregnant, recovering from an injury or procedure, or managing a medical condition, check with your healthcare provider about what’s appropriate for you.
