Dana B.

Dana Billingham is a Fairfield County-native with many passions. She loves to travel and found herself (at the dawn of Covid in February 2020) on the tropical island of Okinawa, Japan with her new, active duty husband.  With a big move, came many changes. Among them were receiving her 200-hour RYT in Hatha/Vinyasa with The Okinawa Yoga Studio in April of 2021 and 300-hour RYT with House of Om in Ubud, Bali in November 2022. She also has certifications in Pre & Post-Natal, Yin/Restorative/Nidra and has even enjoyed joining Ami Norton for an Inside Flow training in Sintra, Portugal in 2023. Her favorite pose is Cactus and favorite form of practice is yin!

Her yoga journey started 10 years ago after a drunk driver sped through a red light at 90 mph into her driver’s side door. The accident left her in critical condition with several broken bones, including a fractured shoulder & pelvis. After a year of intense physical therapy in Norwalk, her therapists suggested gentle yoga and yin. Much to her chagrin, she rolled her eyes and took their advice. Fast forward to her body feeling better than before the accident, she enjoys the healing aspects that yoga can provide, not only to the physical body, but matching it with the mental and spiritual. She brought her practice to many on-base military fitness facilities, as well as a handful of beautiful studios in Okinawa (Okinawa Yoga Studio, The Yoga Tree, Yogamör).

Dana has a lot of gratitude that her home county has welcomed her into its community of those who practice and cannot wait to share her calm, yet zany energy with everyone!
