I started my journey as a yoga teacher in 2003. I trained with Amrit Desai in the Amrit Yoga
ashram in Florida and started teaching September of that year. My progression into fitness
came quickly after first teaching Spin then Pilates. I started my certification with Powerhouse
and Balanced Body then trained with STOTT Pilates.
Both Amrit Yoga and STOTT Pilates bring an acute attention to alignment principles which is
right up my alley. I’m fascinated with the way the body moves and that obsession has leaked
into all aspects of my teaching. I bring a focus on control and alignment into every class I teach
and all my personal fitness endeavors.
At 36 I was an avid athlete but injured my back due to a cycling incident. That’s when I found
Pilates and it changed my life. Pilates has made me stronger than I thought possible and I went
back to being an athlete stronger than ever. I’m current still an athlete and I truly can say it’s
because of all the years of flexibility through yoga and the strength through Pilates. I currently
